Passenger Dies in Suspected DUI Collision on Highway 28, Jesus Ibarra Barragan Faces Charges

 
Rock Island, WA (July 21, 2020)– An alleged DUI collision killed one passenger on Highway 28 and the suspect Jesus Ibarra Barragan will face charges.

Moreover, on the evening of July 18, a 36-year-old passenger died from the incident.
 
Reports say that Jesus Ibarra Barragan, 41, was driving a 2001 Nissan Maxima west on the highway. He reportedly drifted onto the right shoulder before overcorrecting.
Washington State Patrol said Ibarra Barragan then crossed the center line and collided with a 2015 Chevrolet Colorado.
 
The truck driver was identified as Zachary Turner, 30, of Quincy. Turner’s truck went over the guardrail while Barragan’s vehicle came to rest on the right shoulder of the road.
 
Barragan’s passenger died at the scene and the identification has not been released.
 
Both Ibarra Barragan and Turner were injured and brought to Confluence Health-Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee.
 
The police said that either drugs or alcohol were a factor in the fatal collision. Moreover, Ibarra Barragan will face charges including a vehicular assault charge.
 
The roadway has since reopened for the traffic.
