Jesus Herrera Arrested in Deadly DUI Crash on South Grand Avenue in Santa Ana

Jesus Herrera Detained Following DUI Two-Vehicle Wreck at South Grand and East McFadden Avenues

 
SANTA ANA, CA (December 3, 2018) – One person was killed in a DUI two-vehicle crash at South Grand and East McFadden avenues early Sunday.
 
According to Santa Ana Police, Jesus Segura Herrera was arrested following the deadly crash.
 
Inferring from a preliminary investigation, Herrera was driving a black Acura TL northbound on Grand Avenue around 2:20 a.m. when he rear-ended a white Toyota Scion XD at East McFadden Avenue.
 
The impact sent the Scion across the entire intersection before both cars came to a stop in the southbound lanes of Grand Avenue. A rear passenger in the Toyota Scion was trapped in the vehicle and was later pronounced dead at the scene. Herrera, the Toyota driver, as well as another passenger, were brought to nearby hospitals for treatment.
 
Investigators confirmed that Herrera was under the influence of alcohol and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
