Caltrans Worker Jesus Gonzalez Killed in DUI Crash, Arnold Patton Arrested

Jamul, CA (December 17, 2020) On Thursday, 27-year-old Jesus Gonzalez died, and 69-year-old Arnold Lee Patton of San Diego was arrested for the DUI crash State Route 94.

Moreover, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Officer Travis Garrow says the accident happened around 9:55 p.m. on the westbound State Route 94, near Cougar Canyon Drive.

Furthermore, authorities say Patton drove a 1996 Lincoln Town car through an active construction zone, where he hit the Caltrans worker.

Afterward, rescuers took the San Diego resident to Sharp Memorial Hospital for immediate treatment.

Ultimately, Mr. Gonzalez succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

Lastly, the San Diego Central Jail booked Patton for vehicular manslaughter and suspicion of DUI. His bail is for $150,000, and his arraignment is on January 8, 2021.
