Johnson Valley Fatal Collision Injures Others
San Bernardino County, CA (February 3, 2023) – At around 5:22 p.m. on Tuesday, Jessica Sharp, 28, of Yucaipa, sustained fatal injuries in an off-road vehicle crash on Better Sand Dunes.
According to CHP spokesman M. Radford said Sharp was riding in a Polaris off-road vehicle, though was not part of the official races for the King of the Hammers events.
Reports said a northbound 2021 Polaris RZR was driven by a 30-year-old Yucaipa man with two passengers. The off-road vehicle crested a hill before it overturned and rolled several times.
Sharp was in the left backseat when the accident happened. The rescuers airlifted her from the scene to a Morongo Basin Ambulance with major injuries. She was declared dead at the hospital.
Moreover, the driver sustained moderate injuries, while the other passenger, a 24-year-old Yucaipa man in the right front seat incurred major injuries. They were both transported to Desert Regional Medical Center.
The CHP said alcohol or drugs were not a factor in the Johnson Valley fatal collision. Officers are still investigating the accident.
