Pedestrian Dies in Redding Hit-and-Run Crash
Redding, CA (November 30, 2024) – 44-year-old Jessica Remedios of Redding was arrested following a deadly hit-and-run crash on Lake Boulevard Thursday afternoon.
The Redding Police Department officers responded at around 1:54 p.m. to the collision on Clay Street.
When they arrived, officers found a pedestrian lying on the side of the roadway and declared them deceased.
Investigators determined that the pedestrian was pushing a shopping cart along the shoulder of Lake Boulevard when they were hit by a westbound vehicle.
According to the authorities, the driver, Jessica Remedios, did not stop and drove home.
Officers then contacted Remedios at her home and arrested her. They booked her into the Shasta County Jail with charges of Vehicular manslaughter, Driving under the influence and causing great bodily injury or death, and Felony hit and run.
Meanwhile, the authorities said the identity of the deceased is being withheld pending the notification of next-of-kin.
