Jessica Rehder Injured in Fatal Collision on State Route 281 [Kelseyville, CA]

Kelseyville, CA (May 24, 2023) – At about 8:50 p.m. on May 19, a motorcycle passenger, Jessica Rehder, sustained injuries following a fatal collision on State Route 281.

Investigating officers said Michael Pitto was driving a 2006 Dodge Ram towing a boat trailer, westbound on the freeway. He turned left into the Riviera Market entrance at about 10 mph. Pitto turned his vehicle left across the westbound lane and drove in the path of a special construction motorcycle.

The two vehicles collided. Rehder incurred major injuries while the motorcycle driver died. 

Moreover, officers said Pitto was wearing his seatbelt while the motorcycle rider and Rehder were both wearing helmets at the time of the accident.

Officers are investigating if drugs or alcohol were a contributing factor in the fatal accident.
