Jefferson City Man Injured in HWY 179 DUI Crash
Jefferson City, MO (May 2, 2025) – Jesse Hollandworth, 47, of Linn, is facing charges following a Highway 179 accident early Thursday morning.
It was around 12:50 a.m. on May 1 when the collision happened near Merchants Drive.
According to the investigators, Hollandworth was driving a southbound 2005 Nissan Altima that went off the right side of the road and struck a 43-year-old male pedestrian from Jefferson City.
Troopers said the pedestrian who was walking on the west shoulder when the accident happened.
Immediately, the rescuers rushed the victim to University Hospital with serious injuries, but stable, condition.
Police said the Nissan was traveling at 45-50 miles per hour.
Jesse Hollandworth charged with felony driving while intoxicated and two misdemeanors: Reckless driving and not having vehicle insurance. He is now booked at the Cole County Jail without bond.
