REDDING, CA (August 1, 2024) – Wednesday morning, a disastrous pedestrian crash on Shasta Drive involving Jesse Barrera injured 2 girls.
The incident involving a vehicle and two pedestrians happened at about 5:51 a.m. on Shasta View Drive and Hawn Avenue.
Police investigating the incident found that 20-year-old Barrera of Redding was driving his truck northbound on Shasta View when he became distracted. As a result, his truck veered off the northbound lane and onto the shoulder, hitting two juvenile females, ages 13 and 14, who were walking on the east side of the road. Both girls were injured, with one sustaining major injuries.
The Redding Police Department emphasized the importance of staying attentive while driving, “The Redding Police Department wants to remind drivers that inattention can occur inside a vehicle for several reasons, not just cell phones. It is essential to remain vigilant at all times while driving. If something needs your attention, it’s safer to pull over and only resume when full attention can be given to driving.”
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
What’s Next after Crash Involving Jesse Barrera
Gas costs have yet to descend, and even so, traffic on California highways has carried on as busy and dangerous as ever.
Hence, it is important to drive defensively/abide by all driving laws. Moreover, this will ensure your safety and the safety of surrounding vehicles, motorists, and pedestrians.
The aftershock of an accident cannot be dealt with alone. The burden is meant to be shared; preferably, with a community that knows how to handle the effects
