What Can The Bereaved Do?
Moreover, it is clear now more than ever that one person’s negligence can have devastating effects on other individuals. This is quite common in accidents that result in fatalities.
Thus, it is crucial that the bereaved becomes aware that they have the authority to file a wrongful death suit.
A wrongful death claim is brought against a defendant who has caused someone’s death, either through negligence or as a result of some intentional action.
Most importantly, a wrongful death claim holds the party responsible for your loved one’s death accountable.
Depending on the type of situation, settlements can also be anywhere from several hundred thousand dollars to tens of millions of dollars.
Therefore, having legal representation can help you attain compensation on medical bills, loss of earnings, pain, and suffering, loss of consortium, and more.
