1 Dead and 3 Others Hospitalized after Accident on Major Deegan Expressway

 
BRONX, NY (November 17, 2018) – One person was killed and three others were injured after a collision on the Major Deegan Expressway, on Saturday morning. The deceased victim was later identified as 30-year-old Jennifer Parisella of Middletown.
 
According to the police officers, the collision took place just before 7:00 AM, near Brooke Avenue. As per reports, Parisella was driving a Ford Econoline when it rear-ended a Volvo truck, in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx.
 
EMS responded to the scene and pronounced Parisella dead on site. Reports revealed that there were three other occupants inside the van, including a 14-year-old girl who was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln in critical condition. Meanwhile, a 28-year-old man and 12-year-old boy were also in the crash and were transported to area hospitals in stable condition.
 
Authorities revealed that the 42-year-old driver of the Volvo remained was rushed to a nearby hospital in stable condition, but there are no details on the severity of his injuries.
 
Arrests were not made as of this time. The NYPD Collision Investigation Squad is currently handling the crash investigation.
