21-Year-Old Woman Dies in Early Morning Crash on 210 Freeway in Duarte
DUARTE, CA (December 15, 2019) – A woman was killed following a multi-vehicle crash early Sunday morning in Duarte, officials said.
The crash happened around 2:45 a.m. on westbound 210 Freeway at Buena Vista Street.
According to the CHP, the crash started when a Ford Fusion struck a guardrail before being hit by a Ford Escape. That caused a chain-reaction crash, with a Ford Mustang hitting a Toyota Highlander.
The impact ejected the female passenger in the Toyota. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene. The county coroner later identified the victim as 21-year-old Jennifer Gainer Goldsbury.
The driver of the Mustang was arrested for DUI. The driver of the Fusion had fled the scene before the authorities arrived.
CHP officials shut down all westbound lanes of the freeway at Buena Vista Street while they investigated the crash.
We express our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Jennifer Goldsbury during this time of grief.
