Jennifer Duran of Lamesa Killed in Vehicle Collision on FM 179 [Dawson County, TX]

Dawson County, TX (Aug. 8, 2023) – On Saturday night, 31-year-old Jennifer Duran of Lamesa was killed and others were injured following a vehicle collision on FM 179.

The traffic accident took place just before midnight approximately 11 miles north of Lamesa.

Troopers who investigated this incident said Jennifer Duran was southbound on FM 179 when she veered across the roadway into the east barrow ditch. Duran overcorrected and the vehicle crossed back over into the west barrow ditch and rolled over.

Duran succumbed to his injuries at the crash scene.

The four children riding the same vehicle were critically injured. 

The medical team rushed two 11-year-old girls to UMC while an 8-year-old and a 7-year-old boy were transported to Covenant Children’s.

Luckily, the five-month-old baby who was in the vehicle during the accident was not injured. 

All of the five children were also from Lamesa.

In the meantime, the authorities are investigating the rollover collision.
