56-Year-Old Port Townsend Man Hospitalized after Crash on Highway 106 near Creekside Drive
BELFAIR, WA (March 6, 2018) – A motorcyclist was struck and injured on Tuesday afternoon around 12:45 PM on State Route 106 near Creekside Drive, just 7 miles west of Belfair.
Jeffrey S Hubbard, 56, of Port Townsend was riding his 2008 Harley Davidson eastbound on the 106 highway when he was struck by a westbound Chevrolet van. The Chevy was attempting to make a left off of the State Route onto Creekside.
Hubbard was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, but was ejected from his motorcycle and sustained injuries. He was transported to the Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton for treatment. The 74-year-old Belfair woman driving the van, Mildred L Kloot, was not injured in the crash.
The motorcycle was damaged and towed, while the van sustained minor damages and was driven from the scene. Kloot is expected to be cited for failure to yield.
