Jeff Kloiber Dies, Henry Duffy Arrested in Fatal Three-Vehicle Crash on Base line Street

 
San Bernardino, CA (July 20, 2020) – On July 16, the authorities arrested Henry Duffy in a three-vehicle collision that killed Jeff Kloiber and injured 2 others.
 
The tragic accident happened at about 12:53 a.m. when a Honda Civic and a Chevrolet Silverado were moving west on Baseline Street at Interstate 215. Just then, both vehicles took a left turn at the traffic signal.
 
They crossed the eastbound lanes and entered the southbound of I-215 Freeway. As a result, the two vehicles collided with each other.
 
At the same time, a Chevrolet Malibu driven by 29-year-old Henry Duffy was moving east on Baseline approaching the same intersection.
 
Duffy drove through the red light approaching the intersection at a high rate of speed. He then collided with the other two vehicles. As a result, all three vehicles were severely damaged.
 
Meanwhile, Duffy then fled the scene on foot.
 
The Civic driver, Mr. Kloiber, sustained critical injuries. The rescuers rushed the victim to a local hospital, where he later died.
 
Moreover, a Malibu passenger and the Silverado driver were also rushed to a local hospital for medical treatment.
 
Hours later, Duffy surrendered to the authorities at the San Bernardino Police Station. They booked him on a charge of vehicular manslaughter.
 
Police suspect speed and alcohol were factors in this crash.
