A northbound Subaru Forester, driven by 25-year-old Javier Mora of Pasco, was entering the intersection from Road 28 when the SUV slammed into his vehicle. Another car, a Ram pickup driven by 25-year-old Davin Kerr of Pasco, was also struck by the SUV. The severity of their injuries was not immediately available. Officer Herrera and Kerr were reportedly unharmed from the collision.

Authorities noted that everyone involved in the collision was secured in a seat belt. Two out of four vehicles were totaled due to severe damage, while the remaining two were driven from the scene. In addition, Rodriguez was cited for second-degree negligent driving.
