33-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck by Vehicle near Lankershim Boulevard
SUN VALLEY, CA (October 2, 2018) – A man was found dead Tuesday morning following a pedestrian crash on 5 Freeway. The victim was later identified by the coroner’s office as 33-year-old Jason Ramirez. His place of residence was not immediately released.
According to the California Highway Patrol, at least one vehicle struck the victim, at about 6:20 AM near Lankershim Boulevard. Events leading up to the collision were not disclosed.
Ramirez suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by responding officers. Meanwhile, it is unknown whether or not the drivers involved in the crash remained to cooperate with investigators.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fatal incident and to identify possible contributing factors. Anyone with information is asked to contact CHP Altadena Area office at (626) 296-8100. No further details have been provided to the public at this time.
