Officer Injured in Austin Auto Accident on North Lamar Boulevard and 12th Street

AUSTIN, TX (May 13, 2023) – Tuesday night, authorities arrested Jason Patman after a DUI wreck on North Lamar Boulevard and 12th Street.

The incident occurred at about 7:25 p.m. on North Lamar Boulevard and the 12th Street intersection.

Officers revealed that 31-year-old Patman had been drinking beer in a vehicle parked on a curb.

Thus, the officers tried to initiate a traffic stop but the suspect didn’t comply and did not stop.

Then, the intoxicated driver crashed into a police vehicle, causing non-life-threatening injuries to an officer.

Eventually, the authorities apprehended the driver with the assistance of the Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers.

The suspect is currently facing charges of Aggravated Assault Against a Public Servant, a 1st-degree felony; Evading Arrest/Detention with a Vehicle, a 3rd-degree felony; and Driving While Intoxicated, a Class B misdemeanor.

Meanwhile, officers noted that the officer is recovering.
