Jason Kelly Fatally Struck by Car on Haley Street Near Vanderbilt Drive

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (April 5, 2019) – An 18-year-old man died Tuesday night in a pedestrian crash along Haley Street near Vanderbilt Drive.
 
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, officers responded to reports of a collision around 8:50 p.m. Upon their arrival in the 3200 block of Haley Street, a man was spotted with major injuries.
 
Shortly after, crews declared the victim, Jason Quinn Kelly, dead at the scene.
 
Police learned through questioning that the driver struck the man in the northbound lanes outside of a marked crosswalk.
 
Although details remain limited, authorities are investigating this case further.
