Two Hospitalized after Crash near Bennett Valley Road
SANTA ROSA, CA (September 23, 2018) – Two people were injured early Sunday morning following a motorcycle crash near Bennett Valley Road. The victims were later identified as 25-year-old Jason Herman of Rohnert Park and 20-year-old Samantha Jenlo of Santa Rosa.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 4:15 AM. Herman’s Triumph motorcycle was about to round a curve on Sonoma Mountain Road when his helmet fogged up. The motorcyclist lost control of the bike, causing it to go down a nearby embankment.
Herman and his passenger, Jenlo, were thrown from the motorcycle as a result of the crash. They suffered major injuries and were rushed to the Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital by emergency responders. Updates on their current medical conditions were not immediately available.
Alcohol and drugs were ruled out as possible contributing factors in the accident, which remains under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is encouraged to call the CHP at (707) 588-1400. No further details have been provided to the public at this time.
