59-Year-Old Jason Hamby Arrested in Suspected DUI Crash on Orchard Avenue [Ukiah, CA]

Ukiah, CA (June 30, 2024) On Friday, UPD arrested 59-year-old Jason Hamby after causing injury to another driver in a suspected DUI crash on Orchard Avenue.

According to the Ukiah Police Department (UPD), the traffic crash happened on the intersection of Orchard Avenue and E. Perkin Street.

Reports say that Hamby was driving a northbound Toyota Tundra recklessly at high-speed and ran a red light, causing a collision with a Toyota Corolla.

After crashing with the Corolla, the Tundra veered off the road and collided with a fire hydrant. Moreover, the Tundra continued towards a sidewalk and ended up in a parking lot.

Officials say that both vehicles were wrecked, and medics say that the driver of the Corolla was rushed to Adventist Health Ukiah Valley for treatment. Meanwhile, Hamby and his female passenger escaped injury.

Authorities later arrested Hamby, after he was suspected to be driving under the influence of alcohol, he was taken to the hospital and was booked into a Mendocino County Jail.
