Jamie Dobson Dead, Husband and Two Children Injured in Olympia Fiery Accident
OLYMPIA, WA (September 4, 2019) – A mother identified as Jamie Dobson died in a fiery crash on Highway 101 on Monday, September 2.
According to troopers, a family of four rode in a pickup truck towing a travel trailer. Then the driver lost control of the truck near Old Olympic Highway. This caused the truck to swerve off the road and crash into a tree, and then it caught fire.
The mother in the passenger seat died at the scene. Officials later identified her as 37-year-old Jamie Dobson of Shelton.
The 37-year-old father driving the car, along with their 10-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son, was first brought to an Olympia hospital. Then paramedics transferred them to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle due to the seriousness of their injuries. Their conditions were not immediately released.
Fire crews rushed to the scene and extinguished the ensuing brush fire.
An initial investigation determined that the father had some kind of medical emergency that caused him to lose control of the pickup.
The family was on the way to their home in Shelton when the incident occurred.
Troopers stated that they closed the road for over 5 1/2 hours during the cleanup and investigation of the incident.
We extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Jamie Dobson in this very unfortunate time of their lives.
