WFPD Investigates Wichita Falls Deadly Accident
Wichita Falls, TX (June 25, 2023) – On Saturday, 20-year-old James Whitmer of Wichita Falls was killed in a suspected Southwest Parkway hit-and-run collision.
The authorities responded to the scene at past 4 a.m. and located Whitmer dead.
According to the victim’s mother, James was a third-year mechanical engineering student at Texas Tech and was supposed to leave soon to study in Spain for six weeks.
The WFPD Crash Investigations Unit said they believe James was hit by a vehicle that did not stop and render aid. WFPD said there were no witnesses to the crash.
