Hit-and-Run Accident Leaves James Patterson Seriously Injured After Helping Another Driver From Unrelated Crash

 
Oakland, CA (June 9, 2020)– A hit-and-run crash in Oakland Park left a good samaritan, James Patterson, with serious injuries.
 
The incident took place on June 8 at about 12:15 a.m. on East Cypress Creek Road at North Dixie Highway.
 
Responding officials said that the victim, identified as Jonathan James Patterson, was helping another driver from an earlier crash. A car similar to a 2013-2016 Lexus GS 350 hit the driver’s vehicle then it broke down on the road.
 
As Patterson was standing under the hood of the damaged car, another driver struck him. Detectives believe that the driver was turning right. However, it turned too wide, thus hitting Patterson.
 
The driver of the vehicle is still at large. Officials said that the car probably shows damage in its front-end part.
 
Meanwhile, first responders hospitalized Patterson for serious injuries due to the hit-and-run.
