75-Year-Old Shuttle Driver James Kingston Killed after Accident in Gig Harbor

GIG HARBOR, WA (November 23, 2018) – A 75-year-old man from Port Orchard died following a solo-vehicle accident along Highway 16 last Monday, November 19.

Authorities said the fatal crash took place at about 10:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes of Highway 16 near Southeast Mullenix Road in Gig Harbor.

Reportedly, a Kitsap Airport Shuttle was traveling in the northbound lanes of Highway 16 when, for unknown reasons, the driver who was identified as 75-year-old James Kingston had lost control of the vehicle, drifted off the roadway, hit a tree, and caught fire.

An emergency team immediately responded to the area. Unfortunately, Kingston did not survive and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the driver was the only person on the shuttle during the incident. He was also wearing a seatbelt.

No further information was provided. The cause of the deadly mishap remains under investigation.
