80-Year-Old Oxnard Man James Heath Killed in Pedestrian Crash

 
Oxnard, CA (November 27, 2020) – An elderly male pedestrian named James Heath was killed in a crash in Elm and C streets on Tuesday night.
 
The fatal crash took place on November 24 at the intersection of Elm and C streets at about 6:40 p.m.
 
According to a report, a 61-year-old woman was driving a 1997 Honda Accord northbound along C Street. Suddenly, the woman hit an 80-year-old Oxnard man who was walking in the street. The woman then stopped and immediately called for an emergency.
 
Medical personnel arrived at the scene and provided the pedestrian an immediate medical help and later, they transported the victim to Ventura County Medical Center. However, the man reportedly succumbed to his injuries.
 
The report said that the victim’s identification has not been released pending notification of the next-of-kin.
 
Meanwhile, the woman remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Police do not believe that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision. Furthermore, speed was also not suspected to have contributed to the incident.
