56-Year-Old Motorcyclist Fatally Injured in Accident near Roberts Lane
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 22, 2018) – A man lost his life Friday afternoon after his motorcycle collided with a vehicle near Roberts Lane. On Monday, the Kern County Coroner identified the victim as 56-year-old James Allen Morse.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened shortly before noon at the intersection of Olive Drive and Roberts Lane. A 2004 Harley Davidson, driven by Morse, was heading east at an undetermined speed when a Lexus, driven by 46-year-old Luciano DeJesus, entered its path.
Despite attempts to avoid the collision, Morse slammed into the vehicle. The rider was transported to Kern Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead by the medical staff. DeJesus and his unidentified passenger were reportedly unharmed from the collision and were cooperative with the investigators.
A preliminary investigation claimed that a third hit-and-run motorist was involved in the collision, but there were no sufficient evidence and witnesses to verify these allegations.
Additional details are not available to the public at this time.
We extend our sincerest sympathies to the family and friends of James Allen Morse. May he rest in peace.
