Man Dies in Jamacha Road Hit-And-Run, Driver Tries to Flee [San Diego, CA]

Suspected Driver of a Hit-And-Run in Jamacha-Lomita Area Tries to Walk Away

 
San Diego, CA (May 23, 2020) – A 21-year-old suspect driver of a hit-and-run in Jamacha Road on Thursday attempted to walk away from the scene of the accident.
 
San Diego Police Officer Robert Heims says the accident happened just before 11 pm at 8100 block of Jamacha Road, near Glencoe Drive.
 
The suspect was driving a BMW sedan southbound on Jamacha Road when he hit a 28-year-old man who was walking in the eastbound lanes.
 
The victim was rushed to a hospital, but later confirmed dead, says the officer. No identification of the victim was given.
 
Moreover, the BMW driver continued to drive westbound and parked a few blocks away and walked away.
 
Fortunately, the patrol officers still located him and detained for fleeing the fatal crash.
 
Alcohol was not a factor in the accident and the man was later released, says Officer Tony Martinez
 
Traffic detectives are investigating the circumstances causing the accident.
