2-Year-Old Sustains Injuries in Highway 180 DUI Collision
Fresno, CA (July 22, 2022) – On Friday, the authorities arrested Jalessa Johnson, a 30-year-old Lancaster woman, in a DUI crash on Highway 180 injuring her 2-year-old passenger.
The traffic incident took place at about 4:50 a.m. east of Chestnut Avenue.
According to the investigators, Jalessa Johnson, was intoxicated and driving at a high rate of speed.
As a result, Johnson was not able to stop her 2006 Chrysler 300 when the 2002 Toyota Tacoma ahead of her slowed.
The Chrysler rear-ended of the Toyota and caused several more crashes as the vehicles blocked the roadway.
Immediately, the paramedics rushed Johnson and her 2-year-old passenger to Community Regional Medical Center with major injuries. Officers say that the toddler was in a not fitted properly car seat.
Also, the rescuers took the 34-year-old Fresno man riding in Johnson’s vehicle to the hospital with moderate injuries.
The 70 and 78-year-old Sanger women in the Toyota did not report injuries.
Finally, officers arrested Jalessa Johnson on suspicion of DUI.
