25-Year-Old Man Fatally Injured after Run over by Several Hit-and-Run Drivers near Orange Grove Avenue
POMONA, CA (May 13, 2018) – A man was struck and killed by several hit-and-run drivers, early Sunday morning. The victim was identified by friends as 25-year-old Jacob Reyes.
Police officials and emergency personnel arrived at the scene around 2:00 AM, to find the man in the street at the area of Hamilton Boulevard and Orange Grove Avenue. Reyes was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
According to friends, he had gone to buy cigarettes and never came back.
Pomona Police Department detectives continue to investigate the fatal accident. It is unclear how many vehicles were involved in the incident. It is believed that something may have happened that caused the man to be lying in the street. Evidence suggests that Reyes may have been struck several times prior to being run over. His wallet was missing, making it a possible burglary.
