1 Dead in Sparks Car Accident near Rock Boulevard
SPARKS, NV (February 28, 2020) – Early Saturday morning, 30-year-old Jacob Edwards, died in an armed robbery that resulted in a car accident on Oddie Boulevard.
Officers were dispatched to a robbery call just before 6:30 a.m., at 1515 Oddie Boulevard. They arrived near Rock Boulevard shortly after. Authorities were then led on a short pursuit.
Police attempted to administer a maneuver to end the chase. However, the suspect escaped eastbound on Victoria Avenue and drove the wrong way up a freeway off-ramp at McCarran Boulevard. The suspects then continued driving the wrong way on the freeway until they struck a Jeep Patriot head-on.
The Jeep was driven by Edwards, who was later pronounced dead on scene. Authorities arrested the suspect who received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police charged 34-year-old Ryan Williams with open murder, robbery with the use of a deadly weapon, and possessing a gun by a prohibited person. Meanwhile, 30-year-old Adrianna Norman received charges with open murder and robbery with the use of a deadly weapon.
