Ivan Phillips Injured in Truck Collision on Highway 152 and Flanagan Road [Dos Palos, CA]

1 Hospitalized after Dos Palos Truck Collision on Highway 152

 
DOS PALOS, CA (January 28, 2020) – A 61-year-old man sustained major injuries in a truck collision on Highway 152 on January 24.
 
Officers came to Highway 152 and Flanagan Road at around 8:00 a.m.
 
48-year-old John Delgado drove a 2003 Kenworth cement truck south on Flanagan Road, north of eastbound Highway 152 before the collision. Delgado then stopped at a marked stop sign before trying to drive across the eastbound lanes of Highway 152.
 
As Delgado attempted to cross, he drove directly into the path of 61-year-old Ivan Phillips driving a 2019 Freightliner big rig. The big rig traveled east in the number two lane at around 50 mph.
 
Phillips couldn’t avoid the Kenworth and crashed with the right side of the truck. Fire personnel extricated Ivan Phillips from the vehicle and took him to a Modesto hospital with major injuries. Meanwhile, John Delgado sustained minor injuries.
 
Authorities are still investigating the collision.
