Isaac Gutierrez Killed in Accident on Channel Islands Boulevard [Oxnard, CA]

18-Year-Old Oxnard Man Dead and 4 Others Injured in 2-Car Crash near South J Street

 
OXNARD, CA (June 2, 2018) – One man was killed and four other people injured in a two-car collision on Channel Islands Boulevard, early Saturday morning. The deceased victim was identified by the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office as 18-year-old Isaac Gutierrez, a resident of Oxnard.
 
The collision took place on Channel Islands Boulevard between South J Street and South C Street, around 1:15 AM. Oxnard Police Department officials stated that Gutierrez was traveling eastbound in a gray Nissan Altima, on the 600 block of Channel Islands when he swerved into oncoming traffic.
 
The Nissan hit a westbound Acura ILX, driven by a 56-year-old woman. She and three passengers in the Acura sustained minor injuries and were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Their identities and current condition are unknown at this time. Gutierrez was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.
 
Several parked cars in the area were also struck, causing additional debris. Authorities shut down both directions of the residential street until 9:00 AM, as officials investigated and crews cleaned up. No other details were disclosed to the public.
