Interstate 805 Two-Vehicle Crash Sends One to Hospital [San Diego, CA]

San Diego, CA (December 31, 2022) – On Friday, an Interstate 805 two-vehicle crash sends one person to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla with injuries.

The traffic incident occurred at 3:53 a.m. on the southbound freeway at Mesa College Drive wherein three people were involved.

According to the CHP, one of the vehicles involved in the collision was already broken down on the shoulder when it was struck by another vehicle. The authorities added that the doors on one of the vehicles, a black Nissan Ultima, wouldn’t open.

Responding officers located two people waiting on the freeway’s right shoulder. Firefighters extricated one person trapped in their vehicle and transported them to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla with minor injuries.

It has also been reported that another woman was also trapped in her vehicle.

Moreover, a total of 28 firefighting personnel including one medical supervisor, three fire engines, one rescue vehicle, one fire truck, three medics, and one battalion chief, responded to the Mesa College Drive accident.
