27-Year-Old San Diego Man Dies in Rear-End Crash Near Serra Mesa
San Diego, CA (July 29, 2022) On Friday, a rear-end collision killed a motorist and injured another in a fatal crash on Interstate 15.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the crash happened near Serra Mesa at around 1 a.m.
Reports say that a white Chevrolet box truck had a flat tire, and pulled over on the shoulder of I-15. The 25-year-old driver from Spring Valley got out of the vehicle and was standing in front of the vehicle.
Meanwhile, a 27-year-old driver from San Diego, on a black Toyota sedan, veered off the roadway and collided with the back of the truck.
Consequently, the Toyota driver got trapped inside the sedan and died at the scene. Meanwhile, the collision caused the truck to move forward and hit the man in front of it.
Paramedics transported the box truck driver to a hospital, the man suffered minor injuries.
Authorities are investigating the incident. No word on what caused the crash, it is not yet clear if impairment may have been a factor in the crash.
