Sheriff Deputy Hurt in Traffic Crash near 3rd Street

Scottsdale, AZ (November 17, 2022) On Thursday morning, a pursuit crash on Interstate 10 injured a Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office deputy.

Reports say that the traffic crash happened at about 8 a.m. near the 3rd Street off-ramp.

Authorities say that the driver was speeding and recklessly driving his vehicle on I-10 near 3rd Street.

Officials stopped the vehicle but the driver fled the scene as an officer approached his vehicle. The vehicle struck and injured the deputy standing close to the vehicle.

Arizona DPS and the Phoenix Firebird assisted in apprehending the driver. Officials ultimately arrested the male driver outside the Courtyard Marriott in Scottsdale.
