1 Injured in Sun Valley Multi-Vehicle Collision
SUN VALLEY, NV (July 24, 2019) – A person sustained injuries in a multi-vehicle collision on 5th Avenue with a Reno Police Officer on July 22.
The collision occurred about 4:10 p.m. on East 5th Avenue and Sun Valley Boulevard. According to the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, the officer drove through the intersection on a green light. However, a driver headed in the opposite direction drove in front of him. This action led to the vehicle and the officer’s patrol car collision. After that, the patrol car then struck a third vehicle.
The officer didn’t suffer any injury in the collision. However, another party suffered unknown injuries.
The crash caused E. 5th Ave. at Sun Valley Boulevard to shut down while crews investigate. The roads have since reopened.
