Multiple People Injured after Semi-Truck Overturns near 93rd Avenue Southwest

TUMWATER, WA (November 28, 2018) – Multiple people were injured Wednesday morning following a semi-truck crash on Interstate 5. The identities of the victims were not immediately disclosed to the public.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the incident happened near 93rd Avenue Southwest, at about 8:30 AM. A northbound pickup truck was traveling fast on the wet freeway when it lost control. The semi-truck, carrying bags of powdered milk, swerved to avoid the pickup but overturned.

Two other vehicles – a passenger car and a FedEx truck – also sustained damaged in the crash. The FedEx truck driver suffered traumatic injuries and was taken to the hospital after being extricated from the vehicle. Meanwhile, the occupants of the semi-truck and the passenger car sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

Affected areas were closed for several hours to initiate cleaning operations and to conduct further investigation. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
