Speeding Leads to Collision on South Broadway near Athens Park
LOS ANGELES, CA (September 12, 2018) – Injuries were sustained Wednesday evening in a crash on West El Segundo Boulevard.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place about 6:22 PM at the intersection of South Broadway, near Athens Park. The report showed that a maroon vehicle was speeding when it ran a red light and collided with a white Cadillac and another silver car. The Cadillac became undrivable after the incident.
Young children came out of the silver car, following the collision. Medics arrived at the scene to treat multiple people that sustained non-life threatening injuries. It is currently unclear how many people were injured, if anyone was hospitalized, and the current medical condition of the injured parties.
Towing services were conducted to avoid further disruption of the flow of traffic in the area, and officials conducted a preliminary investigation. No additional information on the cause of the collision has been released to the public, as the investigation continues.
