Injuries Reported in Wrong-Way Crash on State Route 539 [Whatcom County, WA]

Whatcom County, WA (June 22, 2023) – On Wednesday, the authorities received more than two dozen calls reporting a wrong-way crash on State Route 539.

The Washington State Patrol (WSP) officers responded to the crash scene north of Kelly Road at around 7:27 p.m. wherein the wrong-way driver struck three vehicles.

WSP said injuries took place but did not provide information on the severity of the injuries.

The 45-year-old male driver who struck the vehicles was taken to St. Joe’s Hospital with serious injuries.

In the meantime, the authorities are investigating the traffic accident north of Kelly Road.
