I-5 Multi-Vehicle Crash Under Investigation

Fife, WA (August 9, 2024) – Injuries have been reported following an Interstate 5 big rig crash Tuesday afternoon.

It was about 1:23 p.m. when the collision happened near 70th Avenue East.

Troopers said a big rig experienced mechanical failures and lost control at milepost 138.5 blocking the traffic.

Two cars were involved in the collision and it is not yet determined if the big rig struck them or if they ran into it.

Luckily, only minor injuries have been reported and there is no evidence of drugs or alcohol being involved.
