DUI Suspected in Wrong-Way San Diego Accident

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (March 29, 2019) – A person suffered injuries in Friday’s possible DUI wrong-way crash on Highway 163 near the 8 Freeway.
 
Authorities responded to a report about a wrong-way driver around 1 a.m. Seconds later, the wrong-way driver struck two other cars, causing the vehicles to rupture into flames.
 
According to reports, police arrived and arrested the driver on suspicion of DUI. Meanwhile, one person required hospitalization but the details of his or her injuries were unavailable.
 
Following the accident, cleanup crews closed the area for nearly an hour while authorities investigated the scene.
