Police Investigate Four-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 35 in San Antonio

San Antonio, TX (May 9, 2025) – A four-vehicle crash on Interstate 35 involving two 18-wheelers shut down the northbound lanes on the South Side. 

The collision occurred around 11:45 a.m. Thursday on I-35 South near New Laredo Highway and Somerset Road. 

Authorities closed lanes in both directions Thursday afternoon but have since reopened them.

According to San Antonio police, ongoing construction in the area had slowed traffic. In response, a southbound 18-wheeler swerved to avoid hitting vehicles ahead. 

As a result, the truck crashed and veered into the northbound lanes, causing a multi-vehicle collision.

In total, four vehicles were involved. While police have not confirmed the number of injuries, they reported that no fatalities occurred.
