ANGEL CAMP, CA (April 3, 2025) – Wednesday morning, an alarming traffic crash on Highway 4 near Murphys Grade Road led to injuries.

The incident involving a truck and a crane happened at around 8:28 a.m. on Highway 4 near Murphys Grade Road.

Emergency responders, including Cal Fire and local police, were dispatched. Reports indicated that a silver SUV was involved, with at least one individual trapped inside and bleeding.

Authorities temporarily shut down all lanes while crews worked to clear debris and address hazardous road conditions. A small amount of diesel fuel was spilled, prompting cleanup efforts by Caltrans. Tow services, including a heavy-duty truck, were requested to remove the vehicles.

By 9:00 a.m., the Angels Camp Police Department and other agencies remained on-site to manage the situation and assist with road closures at Highway 4 and Vallecito Road. The extent of injuries and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
