Lanes Blocked in Dunaway Auto Accident on Interstate 8 near Dunaway Road

DUNAWAY, CA (April 8, 2025) – On Saturday, an alarming rollover crash on Interstate 8 near Dunaway Road led to injuries.

The incident happened on Interstate 8, west of Dunaway Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a van transporting 18 passengers and a Chevrolet Malibu collided in the area for still unknown reasons. Then, the force of the crash pushed the van to rollover.

Moreover, responders transported multiple patients to the hospital with unknown injuries.

Furthermore, officers managed to locate and arrest the driver of the Chevrolet who fled the scene after the crash. Also, authorities said that the driver was charged with Felony Driving Under the Influence and Felony Hit and Run.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified. 

Due to limited information, the CHP continued investigating the crash.
