Lanes Blocked in Monterey Park Auto Accident on New Avenue and Garvey Avenue

MONTEREY PARK, CA (October 25, 2023) – Wednesday afternoon, an alarming hit-and-run crash on New Avenue and Garvey Avenue led to injuries.

The incident happened at around 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of New Avenue and Garvey Avenue.

According to reports, a box truck ran a red light and collided with a sedan at the intersection. Then, the box truck fled the scene southbound on Garfield Avenue toward the 60 Freeway.

Moreover, firefighters rushed to the scene and extricated the occupants of the sedan who were trapped inside the wreckage. Then, paramedics transported the victims to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Furthermore, the crash closed the intersection but has long since reopened.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained at the scene. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
