Injuries Sustained in Valley Springs Auto Accident near State Route 12 and State Route 26
VALLEY SPRINGS, CA (January 1, 2024) – Late Monday evening, a disastrous traffic crash near State Route 12 and State Route 26 led to major injuries.
The California Highway Patrol first received reports at around 10:24 p.m. of a dark-colored sedan stopped in the roadway.
By 10:34 PM, the incident was confirmed as a collision involving two black Dodge Chargers and a pedestrian. Witnesses reported that one of the vehicles may have struck the pedestrian before colliding with another car.
Emergency responders arriving at the scene found a male pedestrian suffering from back and leg injuries, while another individual was pinned inside one of the vehicles. CHP logs indicated that at least two people were injured.
The incident initially reported as a traffic hazard, was reclassified as a major injury collision at 10:56 PM. Multiple CHP units responded to the scene alongside two towing companies, Mach One Towing and Sam Berri Tow, to assist with clearing the roadway.
The circumstances leading up to the collision are still under investigation. Authorities have not yet provided additional details about the conditions of those involved.
