Ines Salvador Dead in Oxnard Crash
OXNARD, CA (May 14, 2019) – A girl died after she was struck by a car while crossing a road in southeast Oxnard on Saturday, May 11.
The Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the 10-year-old girl as Ines Salvador, of Oxnard.
According to the Oxnard Police Department, at about 6:49 p.m., the girl was crossing Olds Road, north of Sanford Street. Then a 1993 Mercury Tracer traveling northbound struck her.
Emergency responders transported the girl to Ventura County Medical Center. She succumbed to her injuries on Sunday evening, officials stated.
The driver, a 52-year-old Oxnard man, cooperated with the investigation.
Authorities said that it does not appear alcohol or drugs were involved. However, they are awaiting the results of tests to make a final determination. There had been no arrests made.
