Ian Acklin Suspect in Hit-and-Run Crash on Foothill Drive
Henderson, NV (January 08, 2021) – On January 2, authorities arrested 23-year-old Ian Acklin in a fatal hit-and-run crash on Foothill Drive.
The deadly incident occurred at around 5:44 p.m. at the intersection of Bridle Drive.
A 32-year-old woman was struck and killed by a vehicle driven by Acklin who immediately fled the scene.
Responders rushed the victim to Sunrise Trauma in critical condition. Unfortunately, she died in the same hospital on January 7.
Meanwhile, police said speed and impairment were factors in the incident.
They booked Acklin into the Henderson Detention Center. He faces the following charges:
1 count of duty to stop at the scene of an accident and 1 count of failing to render aid at a vehicle accident
Also, he faces 1 count of DUI resulting in substantial bodily harm.
The Clark County Coroner will release the deceased’s identity after next of kin are notified.
