Huong Truong Dead and Child Injured in Oakland Pedestrian Accident
OAKLAND, CA (October 2, 2019) – A woman died while a 4-year-old child suffered injuries in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Foothill Boulevard.
At 11:20 a.m., a hit-and-run driver killed Huong Truong as she crossed 22nd and Foothill Boulevard with her four-year-old niece, Ellie.
“As investigators arrived on scene and started their investigation we have concluded now that it is going to be a hit and run. So, we believe a vehicle did flee the scene,” Oakland Police spokesperson Felicia Anthorpe revealed.
Detectives are still looking for surveillance videos and witnesses who may be able can describe the fleeing suspect vehicle. Oakland police have released few details including the make and model of the car.
They pronounced Truong dead at the scene while the 4-year-old girl sustained injuries. However, she is in stable condition.
“Right now we are asking for the community’s help. If anyone was in the area and they witnessed an accident here or saw anything, please call the Oakland Police Department,” added Anthorpe.
Our deepest sympathies are extended to the family and friends of Huong Truong.
