Hugo Parra-Solis Dead, Jerrad Dominguez Detained Following DUI Head-On Crash on Highway 50 Near Elks Point Road
GLENBROOK, NV (June 18, 2019)– A DUI head-on crash on Highway 50 near Elks Point Road Thursday claimed a driver’s life.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, Hugo Parra-Solis died in the 7:06 a.m. accident.
Investigators believe a 2019 Ford F-150 pickup truck, heading eastbound on the highway, veered into oncoming traffic. There, the Ford struck a westbound white 1999 Chevrolet Silverado towing a utility trailer.
The impact sent the Ford truck facing northwest and blocking two westbound lanes while the Chevrolet came to a stop in the right lane of the eastbound side.
The impact had been so severe that the bed of the Chevrolet severed from the front cab and its utility trailer was no longer connected.
Unfortunately, 37-year-old Parra-Solis, of Carson City, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Meanwhile, officers arrested the Ford driver – Jerrad Dominguez – on numerous charges including DUI resulting in bodily harm, possession of a controlled substance, reckless driving, driving with a suspended license and more. The 40-year-old was booked into Douglas County Jail.
The family has created a GoFundMe page to raise awareness and funeral expenses for Hugo.
